On October 7, at approximately 6:15 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a stabbing that occurred on a Winnipeg transit bus in the area of Portage Ave and Valour Road.

Central District General Patrol officers attended and located a 40-year-old female and her 16-year-old daughter suffering from injuries as a result of being cut with an edged weapon. Officers learned that three suspects on the bus became involved in an unprovoked argument with the victims, which escalated to the point of the victims being assaulted with an edged weapon. The suspects were able to flee the area prior to police arrival.

During the incident, the victims were also robbed of their personal belongings. Both were transported to hospital where they were treated and released.

  • Indigenous female in her late 20’s, approximately 5’1”, medium build and wearing glasses.

Suspect #2 and Suspect #3:

  • Female youths wearing all dark clothing.

The Major Crimes Unit has assumed the investigation, and is working to determine an updated description of the suspect. No arrests have been made.
