Search Warrant/Firearm – Arrest: R24-48056

In September 2024, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Community Support Unit (CSU) entered into a firearm investigation involving an adult male suspect and a related North End residence.

During their investigation, CSU officers identified the suspect believed to be involved and were granted a search warrant for the linked property.

On October 5, assisted by members of the Tactical Support Team, officers executed the search warrant on the residence in the 200 block of Flora Avenue and arrested the suspect within. The suspect was found in possession of approximately 6 grams of powdered cocaine on his person. (Estimated Street Value: $750)

The following property was seized as evidence as a result of the subsequent search of the residence:

  • A loaded 9mm handgun with compatible ammunition
  • Approximately 103 Grams of Cocaine (estimated street value of $10,000)
  • Scale and Packaging Materials
  • Approximately $25,000 in Canadian currency

A 26-year-old male from Winnipeg faces the following charges:

  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine)

He was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
