Toronto street shooting update – Public assistance requested: C26-235221

The Major Crimes Unit continued to investigate the drive-by shooting that occurred on September 18, 2026, in the 600 block of Toronto Street and identified two additional individuals involved in this incident.

On October 5, 2026, just before 10:00 p.m., North District Community Support Unit officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Victor Street and Notre Dame Avenue where they located and arrested one of the two outstanding individuals without incident.

Christine Alice Harriet GOODWIN, (34), was charged with the following offences:

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon, Firearm Part or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 2
  • Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Transport Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
  • Possession of a Weapon

She was detained in custody.

The Major Crimes Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in locating an individual wanted in relation to this investigation.

As previously released:

The Major Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate a shooting in the 600 block of Toronto Street around 1:00 a.m. on September 18, 2026.

Police learned an altercation between a group of people and a man had occurred earlier outside of a hotel establishment on McPhillips Street. The parties went their separate ways and police received a report of a drive-by shooting on Toronto Street shortly after. The residence was vacant and nobody was injured.

A suspect vehicle (a white minivan) was spotted nearby, and a woman was taken into custody. A loaded firearm and bear spray was seized from the vehicle.

Karlye RICHARD, (33), was charged with the following offences:

  • Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regs
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Possession of a Weapon  

She was detained in custody.
