A drug trafficking operation in the Southglen neighbourhood has been disrupted, yielding more than 26 kilograms of cocaine valued at 1.5 million dollars, and two people were arrested following a Winnipeg Police Service Organized Crime Unit investigation.
The investigation centered around a residence in the 1-99 block of Satinwood Place.
On September 16, 2026, a man leaving the residence was taken into police custody and arrested with 3 kilograms of cocaine in his possession. A woman was arrested at an unrelated address.
With the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit and the Central and East District Community Support Units, a search warrant was executed at the residence and the following items were seized:
- 23.5 kilograms of cocaine
- Approximately $750,000 Canadian currency
- Conducted energy weapon
- Prescription pills
- Vacuum sealer
- Drug packaging materials and drug paraphernalia
Haleel Jamal HIDARA (40), has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of Scheduled Substance – Psilocybin
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon, Firearm Part or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon, Firearm Part or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
Samantha Darcy GUNN (32), was charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of Scheduled Substance – Psilocybin
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
- Assault with Weapon Against Intimate Partner
They were both detained in custody.
