Two people arrested for two separate transit-related assaults:

On August 18, 2026, at 6:00 a.m., a transit driver was assaulted when a male passenger randomly threw a beer can at him as he was exiting the bus at Dunkirk Avenue and Kingston Row. The driver attempted to restrain the man, and was bitten.

Officers from East District responded and took the man into custody.

Ian Joseph MANN, (51), was charged with Assault and detained in custody.

On August 18, 2026, at 3:40 p.m., with the assistance of Winnipeg Community Safety Officers, a woman was arrested at Main Street and Pioneer Avenue for assaulting a Winnipeg Transit employee.

A Winnipeg Transit supervisor was conducting fare enforcement outside a stopped bus, when he was punched in the face by a woman refusing to pay.  

The victim took hold of the accused and nearby Community Safety Officers intervened until police from Central District arrived.

A 31-year-old woman, is facing the charge of Assault Peace Officer.

She was released on an Appearance Notice.
