Assault investigation at licensed premise results in charges: C26-191112

Three security personnel are facing charges following an investigation into an assault that left a 28-year-old man with injuries after a disturbance at a licensed premise in downtown Winnipeg.

On August 3, 2026, at approximately 1:00 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) responded to a report of a disturbance in the 400 block of Main Street.

Central District General Patrol officers attended and learned that a 28-year-old patron was involved in a physical altercation with security personnel. He later attended hospital, where he was treated for injuries received during the altercation.

The Major Crimes Unit assumed responsibility for the investigation. As a result, three security personnel, aged 35, 37, and 58, were identified as being involved in the assault.

On August 12, 2026, all three security personnel attended Winnipeg Police Service Headquarters and were arrested. They are facing charges of Assault Causing Bodily Harm and were released on Undertakings.
