Man arrested after firearm pointed at security: C26-148403

On June 20, 2026, West District General Patrol officers responded to a commercial business in the 1300 block of Ellice Avenue in response to a gun call.

Upon arrival, officers determined that a man had attended the business earlier in the evening and became involved in a heated dispute with staff. The situation escalated to the point that he was escorted off the premises by security. Once outside, the suspect brandished a handgun and pointed it at security before fleeing the area. Police were contacted and an investigation was initiated.

The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation and identified a suspect.

On June 27, 2026, just after 6:30 p.m., the Major Crimes Unit, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team (TST) and both the West and Central District Community Support Units, executed two warrants at a suite in an apartment complex in the 800 block of Golspie Street. The suspect was located inside the suite and taken into custody.

As a result of the execution of the warrants, the following items were seized by police:

  • Loaded 9mm handgun
  • 3D-printed P80 firearm
  • Large quantity of assorted ammunition

Clinton James Michael MACDONALD (50) has been charged with the following:

  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm x 2
  • Carry concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Unauthorised Possession of a Firearm x 2
  • Possession of a weapon
  • Careless Storage of Firearm, Ammunition, Prohibited Weapon or Device x 2

MACDONALD was detained in custody.
