Serious assault leads to the arrest of a man: C26-152615

On June 25, 2026, just after 2:30 a.m., East District General Patrol officers responded to a suite of an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Rothesay Street for the report of an assault with a weapon.

Upon arrival, officers located a 74-year-old man suffering multiple upper body injuries. The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition, later upgraded to stable.

The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation.

Investigators determined that the victim had been previously socializing with another man when they became involved in a verbal argument. This escalated to a point where the suspect struck the victim in the upper body with a weapon.

Just after 2:00 p.m., the Major Crimes Unit attended to a suite in the 1400 block of Rothesay Street and arrested a man.

Tyrone Jack GOULET, (20), has been charged with Assault with a Weapon and was detained in custody.
