On June 25, 2026, just after 8:00 am, West District General Patrol officers responded to a  parking lot, in the 1700 block of Wellington Avenue for the report of a wellbeing call.

Upon arrival, officers located a male youth that was deceased with significant injuries.

The Homicide Unit assumed responsibility for the investigation.

During the evening hours Homicide Unit investigators were in attendance at a business in the 600 block of King Edward Street and arrested two youths.

A 17-year-old male youth and a 17-year-old female youth have been charged with Second Degree Murder and were detained in custody.
