Fatal Ross Avenue fire deemed accidental: C26-133606

On June 5, 2026, just before 2:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a two-storey apartment fire in the 400 block of Ross Avenue.

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was already on scene and had extinguished the fire. A 53-year-old man was located deceased inside one of the suites. The remaining residents were safely evacuated and no other injuries were reported.

The investigation determined that the fire was not criminal in nature.
