Jogger stabbed in St. Vital neighbourhood. Teen charged: C26-135184

On June 6, 2026, just after 11:00 p.m., East District General Patrol officers responded to the 1-99 block of Abbotsford Crescent for the report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers located a male victim in his 40s with a serious injury to his upper body. He was transported to hospital where he was admitted for observation.

With the assistance of Air 1, TST and the K9 Unit, two youth suspects were located nearby and taken into custody.

The Major Crimes Unit continued the investigation and learned that the victim was out for a jog when he was randomly approached by two suspects. They initially asked for the time, then verbally threatened and stabbed him. 

A 15-year-old female has been charged with the following offences:

  • Assault Cause Bodily Harm
  • Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm
  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Fail to Comply with Condition of Undertaking

She was detained in custody

A 16-year-old male was released without charges.
