On May 30, 2026, just after 9:30 p.m., Central District General Patrol officers responded to a rooming house in the 500 block of Maryland Street for the report of medic call.

Officers arrived on scene where the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service had located a man who was seriously injured. Investigators entered into an investigation and determined that the 25-year-old victim had been assaulted by man earlier on in the evening. The pair became involved in a heated argument which escalated to the point where the suspect struck the victim multiple times with an object before fleeing the area.

The victim sustained multiple serious injuries to his body and was transported to hospital in unstable condition, later upgraded to stable condition.

Officers located the suspect in a suite in the rooming house, and he was taken into custody.

The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation.

Tristan Robinson MOAR, (29), has been charged with the following:

  • Assault Cause Bodily Harm
  • Possession of a Weapon

He was detained in custody.
