Proactive policing results in drug trafficking arrest, firearm and drugs seized: C26-120370

On May 22, 2026, Central District General Patrol officers arrested a 37-year-old man in possession of a firearm, drugs, and cash after observing a drug transaction while patrolling the downtown area.

At approximately 4:20 p.m., officers patrolling in the area of Ellice Avenue and Hargrave Street observed what they believed to be a hand-to-hand drug transaction and took the male into custody. During the arrest, officers seized a loaded 9mm Browning FN High Power handgun, individually packaged quantities of crack cocaine and fentanyl, and approximately $490 CAD.

Peter Sheldon KEEPER (37) has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Handle Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regs
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon, Firearm Part or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 3
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Fentanyl
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

KEEPER was detained in custody.
