On May 22, 2026, at 10:15 p.m., Winnipeg Police Service members arrested a 25-year-old man in relation to two incidents that occurred in the Booth neighbourhood.

At 9:45 p.m., the man attended a restaurant/bar in the 2700 block of Portage Avenue in an intoxicated state and pointed a handgun indiscriminately in the air after he was refused service. The staff and patrons self-evacuated for their safety and no injuries were reported. The man fled the restaurant on foot without further incident.

Shortly after 10:00 p.m., the man attended an apartment complex in the 200 block of Booth Drive where he was observed smashing a window while holding the handgun. Police were contacted and officers located and arrested the man in the 200 block of Ronald Street. Officers seized a CO2-powered imitation Glock handgun, CO2 cylinders, and a baton.

The 25-year-old man faces two counts of Possession of a Weapon, and two counts of Mischief Under $5,000.

He was released on an Undertaking to appear in court at a later date.
