Man arrested with loaded fully automatic handgun during taxi traffic stop: C26-53924

On March 7, 2026, officers stopped a taxi in the North End and located a loaded handgun on the passenger. No injuries were reported.

At 10:51 p.m., Central District General Patrol officers stopped a taxi in the area of Dufferin Avenue and McGregor Street to address a Highway Traffic Act infraction. The passenger attempted to flee during the traffic stop and was taken into custody. During his arrest, officers located a loaded fully-automatic Glock 20 Gen4 handgun with auto sear, and learned he was breaching a firearms and weapons prohibition.

Tearson Alexander FLETT (18) is facing the following charges:

  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possessions is Unauthorized
  • Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon, Firearm Part or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 2
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle

Flett was detained in custody.
