Public Awareness regarding recent threats targeting city schools

Between February 3 and February 19, 2026, the Winnipeg Police Service responded to 11 calls for service regarding threats targeting schools throughout the city.

These threat incidents involved the following schools:

  • In 1-99 block of Bournais Drive – investigated, no criminal charges laid.

  • In the 400 block of Church Avenue, – a 10-year-old youth was referred to the Turnabout program.

  • In the 1-99 block of Hastings Boulevard – a 30-year-old female from Toronto was arrested. She is facing charges of Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm x 2 and released on an Undertaking.

  • In the 400 block of Flora Avenue – a 13-year-old youth was and arrested. They are facing a charge of Uttering Threats – Caused Death or Bodily Harm and released on an Undertaking (as previously released).

  • In the 800 block of Selkirk Avenue – investigation ongoing.

  • In the 700 block of Jefferson Avenue – investigation ongoing.

  • In the 400 block of Church Avenue – investigation ongoing.

  • In the 1000 block of Cottonwood Road – investigation ongoing.

  • In the 100 block of Southglen Boulevard – investigated, no criminal charges laid.

  • In the 500 block of Chalmers Avenue – investigation ongoing.

  • In the 400 block of Scotia Street – a 16-year-old youth was arrested. They are facing charges of Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm x 3 and released on an Undertaking.

The Winnipeg Police Service takes threats to schools seriously and investigates all reports to ensure the safety of students, staff members, the community.
