Motor vehicle collision on Fermor Road/Perimeter Highway overpass bridge: C26-43493

On February 24, 2026, just after 8:00 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a motor vehicle collision that occurred on the Fermor Road/Perimeter Highway overpass bridge.

Upon arrival, officers learned that an Ford F350 truck with attached trailer, was travelling southbound on the Perimeter Highway, when the trailer jack-knifed, resulting in a collision with a Dodge Ram. The F350 crashed into the guardrail on the bridge and dangled off the side of the bridge.

With the assistance of the RCMP, Springfield Fire and Rescue, and the WFPS, one occupant was successfully and safely extricated from the Ford F350. No injuries have been reported however the driver of the Ford F350 was transported to hospital in stable condition for precautionary reasons.

Tow trucks were on scene and dealt with all damaged vehicles involved. A bridge inspector from Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure attended the scene to examine the bridge and determined the bridge was safe to drive on. The perimeter was reopened in both directions to traffic.
