CDSA search warrants lead to drug trafficking charges; man in custody: R25-50479

In September 2025, the Winnipeg Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit began an investigation into suspected drug trafficking activity. A 31-year-old man was arrested, and two search warrants were executed, leading to the seizure of drugs, cash, electronic devices, and materials consistent with drug trafficking and drug production.

On February 2, 2026, with support from the Tactical Support Team (TST), investigators executed search warrants at a business in the 3000 block of Ness Avenue and a residence in the 200 block of Elmhurst Road. One suspect was taken into custody during the search warrants.

A search of the two locations resulted in the seizure of the following:

  • Approximately 827 grams of fentanyl (estimated street value $44,000)
  • Approximately 7.2 grams of cocaine (estimated street value $700)
  • Approximately $15,000 in Canadian currency
  • Drug packaging materials, equipment, and cutting agents commonly used in illicit drug production and distribution
  • Electronic devices and surveillance equipment

Gurvinder Singh DEO (31) has been charged with Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x 2 (Cocaine and Fentanyl) and Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.

DEO was detained in custody.
