Police recover stolen property from string of thefts, woman arrested: R26-5240

The Winnipeg Police Service Property Crime Unit located stolen property from a local retail store being sold on a social media platform, leading to the arrest of a 36-year-old woman.

Between January 11, 2026 and January 26, 2026, a retail store in the 1200 block of St. Mary's Road reported the theft of merchandise valued at under $5000. Investigators found several of the items on sale on a social media platform.

On January 29, 2026 investigators arrested the suspect in the Westwood area. During the arrest, officers located additional stolen items valued at approximately $1,450.

A 36-year-old woman from Oakbank, Manitoba is facing charges of Trafficking in Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 and Theft Under $5000. She was released on an Undertaking.
