Man in custody following beer vendor robberies – charges laid: C25-307826

On January 14, 2026, the Major Crimes Unit arrested 40-year-old Travis Dwayne BRIGHTNOSE regarding his involvement in three late December 2025 beer vendor robberies.

On December 21, 2025, shortly before 9:30 p.m., a man attended a beer vendor in the 6600 block of Roblin Boulevard, and selected two cases of alcohol valued at $120. The man threatened to kill an employee before fleeing the vendor in a taxi.

On December 22, at 9:30 p.m., a man attended a beer vendor in the 3700 block of Portage Avenue, and selected two cases of alcohol valued at $120. The man indicated to an employee that he was armed with a firearm before fleeing the vendor in a taxi.

On December 27, at 10:30 p.m., a man attended a beer vendor in the 6600 block of Roblin Boulevard, and selected two cases of alcohol valued at $120. The man threatened to kill an employee before fleeing the vendor in a taxi. In addition, the man failed to pay for part of the taxi fare after reaching his destination.

All three incidents were captured on CCTV camera and reported to police.

The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation and identified BRIGHTNOSE as a suspect.

On January 14, investigators arrested BRIGHTNOSE and charged him with the following:

  • Robbery x 3
  • Utter Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm x 3
  • Fraudulently Obtain Transportation

BRIGHTNOSE was detained in police custody awaiting further disposition.
