Man arrested in Crescentwood break and enter: C26-7559

On January 9, 2026, around 11:30 p.m., officers from West District responded to the report of a residential break-in in the Crescentwood neighbourhood. The suspect had quickly fled the home after startling the residents.  

Police met with the homeowners who reported being awaken by their security alarm and observed a man standing in their house. One of the residents yelled at him and he left the house. No thefts or damages were reported.

The man was located nearby and taken into custody. During the investigation, he was not forthcoming about his real identity and provided police with a false name.

Oliver Didtger EDERHOF (34), was charged with the following offences:

  • Break & Enter with Intent - Dwelling House
  • Public Mischief
  • Fail to Comply with Condition of Undertaking

He was detained in custody.
