On January 3, 2026 a man and a woman assaulted a convenience store employee with a weapon in the 400 block of Talbot Avenue. The clerk received minor injuries from the assault and did not require medical attention.

At approximately 7:12 p.m., a 37-year-old male and a 40-year-old female became involved in a dispute with a store clerk at the above-mentioned convenience store. During the dispute, the clerk was assaulted with various items obtained from within the store. The incident was interrupted by a person who entered the store during the assault, and police were contacted. The suspects left before police arrived.

East District General Patrol officers attended and reviewed security footage of the incident. While officers were speaking with the store clerk, the two suspects returned to the store, attempted to make a false claim that they had been assaulted by the employee, and were subsequently arrested.
