On December 29, 2025, around 1:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a house fire in the 700 block of Nassau Street.

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was already on scene battling the blaze. Three occupants managed to self evacuate and were transported to hospital. A man and woman in their 60s, and a woman in her 30s were treated and released.

A man in his 40s was located deceased inside the residence.

The Winnipeg Police Service’s Major Crimes Unit continues to investigate.
