On December 23, 2025, shortly after 10:00 p.m., North District General Patrol officers arrested a 28-year-old man after he was observed stealing a package from the front porch of a residence in the 800 block of Atlantic Avenue.

Through their investigation, officers learned the 28-year-old had attended three separate residences between 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., (one in the 700 block of Cathedral Avenue, and two in the 800 block of Atlantic Avenue), where he stole three packages from front porches. A homeowner who observed one of the thefts contacted police and provided information to attending officers, who located and arrested the suspect at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Arlington Street without incident.

The three packages in his possession were linked to the above mentioned addresses and returned to their rightful owners.

Skyler Lane Richard BAKKEN (28) is charged with Theft Under $5,000, and two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000. He was also arrested on the strength of a warrant for Possession of a Scheduled Substance.

BAKKEN was detained in custody.
