Holiday Checkstop Program – Week 3 Results

The 2025 Holiday Season Checkstop Program is officially underway and will continue throughout December and into New Year’s Eve.

Between December 15-21, 2025:

  • 1,183 vehicles were stopped
  • 36 drivers were found to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, including:

  • 2 drivers criminally charged for Impaired Operation (80mg% or over)
  • 12 Immediate Roadside Prohibitions (ASD Fail)
  • 1 driver who failed a drug-screening test (ADSE Positive)
  • 21 drivers who registered a WARN

A friendly reminder that every driver stopped during a Checkstop will be required to provide a breath sample using an Approved Screening Device and drug-screening equipment will be used to detect signs of cannabis impairment. The Winnipeg Police Service wants everyone to have a safe and enjoyable holiday season.
