Retail Theft arrests continue - multiple repeat offenders in custody

Property Crime Unit continues to target retail theft with another prolific suspect arrest: C25-299107

On December 11, 2025, shortly before 4:30 p.m., Property Crime Unit investigators arrested 36-year-old Ashley Marie BEZECKI at a retail store in the 1500 block of Regent Avenue West regarding a shoplifting incident.

At about 2:15 p.m., BEZECKI entered the retail store at the above-mentioned address contrary to conditions of a release order, selected various articles of clothing, and exited without paying. Loss prevention officers intervened, arrested BEZECKI, and contacted police. BEZECKI was turned over to the custody of the Property Crime Unit.

Investigators linked BEZECKI to an associate, William PLANTE, who was arrested on December 2 in relation to almost twenty retail theft incidents. (PCU Prolific Offender Arrest). As a result of her involvement in these incidents, two warrants of arrest had been issued for BEZECKI.

In addition to her warrants, BEZECKI is charged with an additional count of Theft Under $5,000, and two counts of Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order.

BEZECKI was detained in custody.

 

Winnipeg Crime Stoppers top 10 retail theft offender arrested during traffic stop: C25-299850

On December 12, 2025, at 11:36 a.m., North District Community Support officers located a man listed on the Winnipeg Crime Stoppers Retail Theft Wanted List during a traffic stop in the 700 block of Burrows Avenue.

The man was identified as 60-year-old Gerald Wesley BOLT, a top 10 wanted individual listed on the Winnipeg Crime Retail Theft Wanted List. He was arrested for five outstanding Property Crime Unit warrants related to retail thefts and breaches of probation. During the arrest, officers seized approximately 1 gram of fentanyl and 1 gram of cocaine.

BOLT has been charged with:

  • Possession of Scheduled Substance – Cocaine
  • Possession of Scheduled Substance – Fentanyl
  • Warrant – Theft under $5000 x 4, Fail to comply with Probation (E25-34647)
  • Warrant – Theft Under $5000 (E25-37114)
  • Warrant – Theft Under $5000 (E25-38074)
  • Warrant – Fail to Comply with Probation Order (R25-61824)
  • Warrant – Fail to Comply with Probation Order (R25-67777)

BOLT was detained in custody.

 

SafeShop Project nets arrest of Crime Stoppers top 10 retail theft offender: C25-299910

On December 12, 2025, West District Community Support Unit officers assigned to the SafeShop Project in the Polo Park area arrested 49-year-old Michael Villalba DEGUZMAN, an offender listed on the Winnipeg Crime Stoppers Retail Theft Wanted List.

At 12:45 p.m., officers observed DEGUZMAN stealing merchandise from a retail store in the 1400 block of Portage Avenue. He exited the store without paying, and was promptly arrested by officers who recovered the merchandise.

DEGUZMAN, a Winnipeg Crime Stoppers Retail Theft top 10 most wanted, was subject of multiple investigations led by the Property Crime Unit. As a result of these retail theft investigations, four warrants of arrest were issued for DEGUZMAN.

DEGUZMAN was arrested on the strength of the four warrants and additionally charged with Theft Under $5,000.

DEGUZMAN was detained in custody.
