Female threatened with a gun. Male arrested by police: C25-287745

On November 29, 2025, just after 2:00 a.m., East District General Patrol officers responded to an apartment complex in the 1500 block of Warde Avenue, for the report of a female that had been threatened with a gun.

Upon arrival, officers located a 24-year-old female victim in the lobby of the complex.  Officers determined that the victim had attended to an apartment suite to meet with a friend at which point an argument ensued. A male, also in the suite, pulled out a shotgun and threatened the victim. The victim fled the suite and contacted police.

Just after 2:30 a.m., with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, a male and a female were arrested from the suite. There were no reported injuries as a result of this incident.

The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation.

Just before 2:00 p.m., a search warrant was executed on the suite and the following evidence was seized by police:

  • Unloaded Winchester 12-gauge shotgun

Brennan David COCHRANE, (28), has been charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Use a Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence
  • Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing Serial Number has been Tampered With
  • Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon, Firearm Part or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm
  • Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order x 4

He was detained in custody.

A 23-year-old female was released without charge.
