In October 2025, the North District Community Support Unit began a drug trafficking investigation in the William Whyte neighbourhood. As a result of this investigation, a firearm was seized along with approximately $600 worth of illicit drugs and around $4,000 in cash. Seven people were arrested, three of whom were charged.
On October 19, 2025, just before 2:00 p.m., the North District Community Support Unit, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, and the Guns and Gangs Unit, executed a warrant on a residence in the 500 block of Manitoba Avenue. Seven individuals were located within the residence and arrested.
Items seized by investigators during the execution of the warrant included the following:
- A sawed-off .22 caliber rifle
- .22 caliber ammunition
- 2.7 grams of Fentanyl (Estimated Street Value = $325)
- 2.0 grams of Methamphetamine (Estimated Street Value = $200)
- 3.2 grams of Psilocybin (Estimated Street Value = $30)
- Approximately $4,000 in Canadian currency
Nicholas James LILKE, (38), has been charged with the following:
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
He was detained in custody.
A 48-year-old man is facing the following charges:
- Fail to Comply with Condition of Undertaking x 2
He was released on an Appearance Notice.
A 30-year-old woman is facing the following charges:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Psilocybin
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
She was released on an Undertaking.
Four other individuals were released without charges.
