Three individuals were at a residence in the 400 block of Alfred Avenue when a dispute broke out. During the altercation, two women were assaulted at knifepoint. All parties were known to each other, and the man involved had been consuming alcohol.

On October 3, 2025, around 2:00 p.m., the three were at a mutual acquaintance’s residence on Alfred. An argument over money occurred between the man and one of the women. As things escalated, he armed himself with a knife and attempted to stab the woman who was visibly pregnant. She managed to back away and the other woman jumped in to prevent further assault. The first woman was not injured.

The fight shifted towards the second woman. She and the accused fell through a broken handrail to the ground where she was then stabbed by the accused.

Two other men in the residence intervened by holding down the armed man until police arrived. Officers from North District took the man into custody and he continued to act in an aggressive manner.

The second victim was transported to hospital in stable condition.

Brian Dale HENDERSON, (50), was charged with Assault with a Weapon x 2, and detained in custody.
