On October 1, 2025, just before 4:30 p.m., East District General Patrol officers arrested a man, and recovered two air pistols after the man drew a gun on a woman and her children.
The victim, in her 40s, reported that she was picking her children up from school at around 3:30 p.m., in the 900 block of Brazier Street, when the man approached her vehicle in a threatening manner. As she drove away, the man drew a black handgun from his waistband.
The man then approached a group of youth a short time later near Brazier Street and Maxwell Place, and pulled the handgun from his waistband and pointed it at them making the group of youth flee.
The man and all the victims are previously unknown to one another and the incident is believed to be random and unprovoked. There were no reported injuries as a result of these incidents.
East District General Patrol officers located the man and arrested the in the rear of an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Brazier Street.
A 19-year-old man is facing the following charges:
- Pointing a Firearm
- Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Possession of a Weapon
He was released on an Undertaking.
