Wanted offender court-ordered not to attend retail stores arrested following series of shoplifting incidents: E25-28314

Between August 6 and August  28, 2025, several Winnipeg retails stores reported thefts of merchandise totalling $2,800. Winnipeg Police Property Crime Unit investigators identified a suspect believed to be involved in the thefts, who is court ordered not to attend to the retail stores where merchandise was stolen.

  • August 6: A retail store in the 1500 block of Regent Avenue; $356.00
  • August 14: A retail store in the 800 block of Leila Avenue; $1,793
  • August 24: A retail store in the 1600 block of Kenaston Boulevard; $199
  • August 25: A retail store in the 1400 block of Portage Avenue; $284
  • August 28: a retail store in the 1500 block of Regent Avenue; $178

On September 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., investigators located the suspect at a residence in the William Whyte area and took him into custody.

Joshua Michael MCPHERSON (34) has been charged with Theft Under x 5 and Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 4. He was also arrested on warrants for Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 5, Theft Under x 5, Fail to Comply with Release Order, and Identity Theft.

MCPHERSON was detained in custody.
