On September 19, 2025, at 3:36 a.m., the WPS Flight Operations Unit (Air1) responded to the report of a commercial break & enter in the vicinity of Ken Oblik Drive in South Pointe West. Members of Air1 observed two suspects fleeing in a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, which was later determined to be stolen.

Air1 maintained visual containment of the suspect vehicle while assisting ground units attempted to position themselves to deploy pre-pursuit tactics. A stop stick deployment was unsuccessful, and the suspect vehicle fled from police, initiating a pursuit.

During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle failed to negotiate a turn on a gravel road in the vicinity of Holmes Road and Poneida Road, entered a ditch, and rolled over. The two suspects were arrested without incident and transported to the hospital for medical examination.

One male was treated for minor injuries and released, while the other will require additional treatment for a serious fracture.

The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba (IIU) was notified and have assumed responsibility for the investigation. Please direct any follow-up inquiries to the IIU.
