Ankle monitor alert leads to arrest and theft charges: C25-221180

On September 17, 2025, at 3:55 p.m., the Manitoba Justice Electronic Monitoring Program informed the Winnipeg Police Service that a 45-year-old man on absolute curfew attended to a store in the 600 block of Notre Dame Avenue contrary to conditions of his release order.

At 4:06 p.m., Central District General Patrol officers attended to the suspects last known location and located the him in the 500 block of Furby Street where he was taken into custody.

Officers also learned that the man had been identified as a suspect in a September 5, 2025 shoplifting incident in the 1500 block of Regent Avenue West, where approximately $1,500 worth of merchandise was stolen.

Christopher Trinided SANTOS (45) has been charged with Theft Under $5000, Failing to Comply with Probation Order, and Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order x 2. He was detained in custody.
