Proactive patrolling leads to downtown arrest of machete-wielding man: C25-221737

On September 18, 2025 at 5:35 a.m., Central District General Patrol officers observed a man at a distance walking in the area of Ellice Avenue and Donald Street with what appeared to be a large machete held over his shoulder.

Officers converged in the area and at 5:44, located the man at Cumberland Avenue and Hargrave Street. Although uncooperative, he was taken into custody without incident, and a large machete was recovered nearby and seized as evidence.

A 27-year-old man faces charges of Possession of a Weapon and Fail to Comply with Condition of Undertaking.

He was released on an Undertaking to appear in court at a later date.
