Gun and drugs seized by police after impaired traffic collision, one woman arrested: C25-185978

On August 10, 2025, just after 12:15 a.m. Central District General patrol officers arrested a woman at the scene of a traffic collision after she was found to be intoxicated and in the possession of illicit drugs and a gun.

Investigators established that the intoxicated woman was driving her 2007 Acura TSX southbound on Maryland Street, nearing Portage Avenue, when she collided with a vehicle that was stopped at a red light. While the collision resulted in substantial damage to both vehicles, there were no reported injuries

Officers arrested the woman based on her observed signs of intoxication. A search of the vehicle revealed an unloaded 12-gauge shotgun. While searching the woman, 20 grams of cocaine were located on her person and subsequently seized by officers. The seized drugs have an estimated street value of $1,600.

The 27-year-old woman faces the following charges:

  • Operate a Conveyance While Impaired to Any Degree by BAC or Drug or a Combination of Both
  • Within 2 hours of Ceasing to Operate a Conveyance is Impaired with BAC Equal or Over 80mgs
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine  

She was released on an Appearance Notice and an Undertaking.
