On July 21, 2025, just before 9:00 p.m., Central District General Patrol officers were in the North Point Douglas neighbourhood on an unrelated matter when they came into contact with a man riding his bicycle, contrary to Highway Traffic Act (HTA) regulations. Officers stopped the man for the infraction and while identifying him, learned that he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was subsequently arrested on the strength of his warrant.
While searching the man’s belongings, officers found and seized a number of weapons and a small amount of illicit drugs totaling $320. This included 0.8 grams of methamphetamine, 2.4 grams of crack cocaine, a can of bear spray, and two fully operational homemade tasers.
A 41-year-old man is facing multiple drug, weapons and HTA-related charges and was released on two Undertakings.
