Stolen Vehicle - Arrest: C25-27301/C25-28439

On February 8, 2025, at approximately 1:50 a.m., a patrolling Canine Unit observed a 2010 Acura MDX being operated by a lone male, traveling eastbound McDermot Avenue towards Arlington Street. The vehicle had previously been reported stolen from a parking lot in the 900 block of Notre Dame on February 6.

With the assistance of Central General Patrol officers, a follow was initiated. The vehicle proceeded southbound on Arlington Street in an attempt to evade police and struck a light standard. As the Canine Unit approached, the vehicle rammed the police vehicle and continued to flee at a high rate of speed. A short distance away, the driver of the stolen vehicle lost control and struck a commercial building in the 900 block of Notre Dame Avenue. The male fled on foot but was arrested by officers without incident after a brief foot pursuit.

Building damages are estimated at approximately $30,000. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

An 18-year-old male of Winnipeg faces a charge of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000. He was also arrested on a strength of a Warrant in his name for Fail to Comply with Sentence x 4.

He was detained in custody.
