Safe Shop: Don’t Give the Grinch an Inch!

Released: December 5, 2024 at 8:33 a.m.

The holiday season is here, and while you're out enjoying your shopping, don’t let thieves steal your Christmas cheer. Keep your vehicle and valuables secure with a few simple tips.

Protect Your Vehicle and Its Contents
Most vehicle-related thefts are crimes of opportunity. Thieves often target cars with valuables in plain sight, making quick smash-and-grabs a common occurrence. Here’s how you can stay one step ahead:

  1. Avoid leaving shopping bags or other valuables in your car. If necessary, store them in a locked trunk, completely out of sight.
  2. Park in well-lit, high-traffic areas, especially when shopping later in the evening.

All Valuables Removed Program
Take advantage of our All Valuables Removed cards! These bright yellow theft-prevention signs can deter thieves and remind others to secure their belongings. Displaying a card could save you from the hassle of reporting theft, insurance claims, or costly repairs. Download your card here: All Valuables Removed Card.

Increased Police Presence
This holiday season, you’ll notice more police officers at malls and shopping areas. Our goal is to create a safe and secure environment, but we need your help. By staying vigilant and following these tips, we can work together to prevent crime.
