Suspicious/Bomb – Investigation: C24-220964

On September 21, 2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers from the Central District responded to the report of a suspicious item in the back lane in the 400 block of Elgin Avenue.

The item was described as having a blinking red light with visible wires and some smoke coming from it.

General Patrol and an onscene Bomb Technician took control of the scene and cleared the surrounding area until the Bomb Unit was summoned.

At approximately 12:30 a.m. (September 22), the bomb robot was deployed, safely disengaged the device, and the area was deemed safe.

Police are continuing to investigate this suspicious incident.
