Stolen Motorcycle/Drug Offences – C24-219968

On September 20, 2024, at approximately 8:15 p.m., an adult male, in possession of a stolen motorcycle was at a gas station in the 100 block of Salter Street. While pumping gas, the bike suddenly caught on fire. The male moved the motorcycle from the pumps toward a nearby dumpster while it was still on fire. General Patrol officers from the North District observed the suspicious fire and called for backup. The suspect male ran off, and police observed him in a nearby taxi.

A 35-year-old male, Gene Michael SOLDAT of Winnipeg, was taken into custody. He was in possession of various Percocet, Xanax and Gabapentin pills and a weapon contrary to his court orders.

He was charged with the following offences and detained in custody:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order x 2
  • HTA offence

The motorcycle was previously reported stolen in July 2024.
