On August 31, 2024, at approximately 3:00 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a male who had been assaulted outside an establishment in the 400 block of Main Street.
The victim, in his 20s, was standing outside the establishment when he became involved in an altercation with an unknown male who was in the area. The unknown male assaulted him on the ground by punching and kicking his body and left the area.
While the victim was lying on the ground, a second unknown male (the accused) came over and began kicking him and stole some of his personal property.
When police arrived, bystanders pointed out the second suspect, and he was taken into custody.
The victim suffered some injuries but declined medical attention.
A 25-year-old male, Ethan MCDOUGALL of Winnipeg, faces charges of Robbery and Failing to Comply with a Release Order. He was detained in custody.
The Major Crimes Unit is continuing this investigation.
