Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision – C24-177204

On July 31, 2024, at approximately 4:46 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a serious motor vehicle collision involving a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck trailer at Centreport and the Perimeter Highway. Members of the RCMP were already on scene when officers arrived.

An RCMP officer had activated emergency equipment and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. A short time later the vehicle collided with the truck.

An 26 year old adult female from Winnipeg was transported to hospital by members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and has succumbed to her injuries.

The WPS Traffic Division’s Collision Investigation Section is assisting the Independent Investigation Unit (IIU) with investigating this matter. 

Anyone with information, including video or dash camera video footage regarding this incident, is asked to contact the IIU.
