On July 26, 2024, at approximately 5:50 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 300 block of Keenleyside Street for the report of a shooting involving a black SUV.

The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation and learned that the involved vehicle was a black, 2019, Dodge Ram.

On July 29, 2024, at approximately 1:35 p.m., the Dodge Ram was observed operating in the 1800 block of Pembina Highway. West District General Patrol officers, with members of the Guns and Gangs Unit, and Tactical Support Team, conducted a high-risk vehicle stop. One occupant immediately fled on foot, but was arrested by officers after a short foot pursuit. Three occupants were taken into custody. A pump action shotgun and four shotgun shells were located in the vehicle.

Tyson Stewart MCPHERSON, (29) of Peguis First Nation, is charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order

MCPHERSON was also arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant.

Philippe Rex DUBUC, (32), of Winnipeg, is charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Drive Suspended/ Disqualified
  • Fail to Comply with Condition of Undertaking

They were both detained in custody.

An adult male and adult female were released with no charges.
