On December 3, 2023, at approximately 5:10 p.m., multiple suspects attended a jewellery business in the 1400 block of Portage Avenue. The suspects entered the store at different times, intending to distract the employee while compromising the display case and obtaining merchandise.

The suspects fled with over $17,000 in various jewellery.

On June 12, 2024, at approximately 6:30 p.m., the suspects re-attended the same business and, in a similar fashion, stole approximately $35,000 worth of jewellery.

Members of the Winnipeg Police Service Property Crime Unit assumed the investigation, leading officers to two suites in Morden, Manitoba.

Recently, search warrants were obtained and executed with the assistance of the Morden Police Service and their Tactical Support Team. As a result of the search, officers recovered approximately $16,000 worth of the previously stolen property.

Five suspects have been arrested and charged/facing the following offences:

Charles George BUNN, 55, has been charged with Theft Under $5000 x2 and Theft Over $5000. He was detained in custody.

Alicia Ray KENT, 34, has been charged with Theft Over $5000 x 2 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 for the Purpose of Trafficking. She has been detained in custody.

A 53-year-old female and a 37-year-old male are facing charges of Possessing Property Obtained by Crime and have been released.

A male youth is facing a charge of Theft Over $5000. He was released.
