On the evening of July 8, 2024, a male suspect approached an adult female in the 3300 block of Portage Avenue. The suspect engaged in conversation and eventually lured the female to a nearby residence.

The suspect broke into the residence and, once inside, barricaded the female, preventing her from leaving. He physically and sexually assaulted her, and, at one point, she was rendered unconscious. The suspect threatened to kill her and then robbed her of her property. The female eventually fled the residence and called police when he fell asleep.

West District General Patrol responded and located the suspect asleep inside the residence. He was taken into custody and arrested.

Members of the Sex Crimes Unit were notified and assumed the investigation.
