Aggravated Assault – Arrests: C23-227312

On September 18, 2023, at approximately 8:40 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a hotel in the 1800 block of Ellice Avenue for the report of an assault.

The investigation has revealed that a 54-year-old male victim was present oustside in front of the hotel, when he was approached by a 33-year-old male and a 34-year-old female who began physically assaulting him to the upper body. The victim was then robbed of his belongings. 

A 37-year-old male exited the hotel armed with a knife and proceeded to assault the victim further to the upper body while lying on the ground. The victim sustained numerous lacerations as a result.   

The victim was transported to hospital in unstable condition.

Members of the Majors Crimes unit continued the investigation.

The three suspects were located and arrested at the scene without incident.

They are facing robbery and aggravated assault-related charges.
