On September 4, 2023, the Winnipeg Police Service Guns & Gang Unit executed a search warrant in the 1100 block of Portage Avenue related to a drug trafficking investigation.

As a result of this investigation, three firearms were seized along with more than $30,000 worth of cocaine, and two people were taken into custody:

- ¾ kilogram of cocaine (estimated street value of $30,000)

- 3-D printed Glock, 9mm and compatible ammunition

- Ruger rifle

- Enfield rifle

- double barrel shotgun

- various rounds of compatible ammunition

- 50 Percocet pills (estimated street value of $200)

- packaging materials and scales

- body armour

- a money counter

- a crossbow

- a knife

- cell phones

- $600 Canadian currency

A 30-year-old male, Ryan Thang MOAR of Winnipeg, was charged with 26 firearm and drug-related offences and was detained in custody.

A 27-year-old female of Winnipeg is facing 13 firearm and drug-related offences and was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
