Update:
The Homicide Unit continued its investigation into the murder of 50-year-old George Nickolas DEMOS on August 5, 2023.
On August 10, investigators arrested a third suspect involved in the incident.
Nehemiah Jarren FEHR, 22, of Winnipeg, is charged with Second Degree Murder and was detained in custody.
Investigators do not anticipate further arrests.
Through their investigation, investigators learned that on August 5 at 1:25 a.m. (approximately two hours before the murder), one of the suspects was involved in a confrontation with a group of seven individuals ( two males, five females) in the drive-through of a fast-food dining establishment located at Portage Avenue and Sherbrook Street.

On August 5, 2023, at approximately 3:20 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the rear lane in the 200 block of Furby Street for a report of a male who had been stabbed.
Central and West District officers attended and located an unresponsive 50-year-old adult male who had been stabbed. Officers provided emergency medical care for the victim before he was transported to hospital in critical condition; however, he succumbed to his injuries. The suspect(s) fled before police arrived.
The Homicide Unit continued its investigation and identified the victim as 50-year-old George Nickolas DEMOS of Winnipeg.
On August 5, investigators arrested 23-year-old Jonathan Michael GLADUE of Winnipeg. He has been charged with Second Degree Murder and remains in custody.
Investigators also arrested a 17-year-old male from Winnipeg who faces the charge of Second Degree Murder. He was detained in custody as mandated by the Criminal Code.
