Effective today, June 19th, 2023, the Winnipeg Police Service will be implementing a new criminal records check system to enhance the online application experience and reduce the need for citizens attending in person for record checks.

Applicants for criminal record checks will now be required to apply online.  If needed, there will be in-person assistance at Winnipeg Police Service headquarters to guide applicants through the online system.

This new application will allow applicants to:

  • Apply for a criminal record check and vulnerable sector check online without being linked to an agency account
  • Download their record check and share with agencies as they choose

Applicants may still be required to attend in person for fingerprints and will be advised as part of the application process.

We are excited to provide these added efficiencies to our online applicants and we are confident this will enhance our commitment to providing excellent customer service.
