Break & Enter/Indecent Acts – Arrest: C22-171292

As previously released:

The Winnipeg Police Service previously released information regarding a residential break-in involving an indecent act and an attempted sexual assault.

On July 31, 2022, police responded to a residence in the Wolseley neighbourhood regarding an unknown male who broke into a home while two adult females were inside. While inside, he committed an indecent act and tried to force himself onto one of the females. She was able to fend him off, and he fled prior to police arrival.

Stolen Vehicle – Arrests: C22-208368

On September 10, at approximately 11:45 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service’s Traffic Safety Section was patrolling the area of Ashburn Street and Richard Avenue when an officer observed four individuals occupying a parked vehicle which had been reported stolen.

Stabbing – Arrest: C22-207587

On September 9, at approximately 5:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to Memorial Boulevard and St. Mary Avenue for the report of a male armed with a knife threatening to stab members of the community.

Robbery/Purse Snatching – Arrests: C22-177877/ R2243416

Update:

Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued their investigation regarding a string of purse snatching robberies of elderly female victims between July 17, 2022, and August 6, 2022.

On August 14, Kudakwashe HAMBIRA, 25, and Kidega SABIL, 23,were arrested and charged in relation to the robberies.

Investigators identified a third suspect and, on September 7, located and arrested an adult male at his residence without incident.

Stabbings – Arrests: C22-205954/C22-205955

On September 7, 2022, at approximately 11:30 p.m, the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of two separate stabbing incidents in the North Kildonan neighbourhood of the city.

Drug Trafficking Investigation – Arrests: R22-45621

In August 2022, the Winnipeg Police Service was alerted to concerns of ongoing drug trafficking activity within the community encompassing the area of Waterfront Drive.

In September 2022, the Central Community Support Unit began an investigation and identified an adult male and female believed to be involved.

Firearm – Arrest: C22-201830

On September 3, 2022, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a gun call at an apartment complex in the Seven Oaks neighbourhood.

A teenage victim was located with a gunshot wound to her upper body and transported to hospital in stable condition.

Shooting – Investigation: C22-203275

On September 5, 2022, at 2:07 a.m., Central District General Patrol members, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team and K9 Unit, responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Logan Avenue for a report of a shooting during a home invasion.

Upon arrival, officers located an injured male in his twenties and began to administer emergency medical care – including the use of a tourniquet. He was transported to a hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition.

Stabbings – Arrest: C22-201314

On September 2, 2022, at 7:29 p.m., North District General Patrol members, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, responded to a residence in the 700 block of Flora Avenue for a report of a male that was attempting to stab other individuals.

Medical Incident – Public Assistance Requested: C22-175564/C22-175848

On August 5, 2022, emergency services responded to a restaurant in the 1100 block of Main Street for a report of a male in medical distress. The male was subsequently transported to a hospital in serious condition.

Investigators have been unable to identify the male and are asking the public for their help.
